DAY 1
Arrive Auckland
Note: Arrivals Tue & Sat to meet Bay of Islands Tour departures.
On arrival you will be met and privately transferred to your accommodation. Auckland is New Zealand's largest city, set between two harbours with gentle sandy shores on the east coast and black sand, wild surf beaches on the west coast. Make your way up the Sky Tower for a panoramic introduction to the city. Overnight: Auckland

DAY 2 (Wed or Sun only)
Auckland - Bay of Islands
Travel to Northland’s west coast, home to ancient kauri forests, wild windswept beaches and harbours and historic country towns. Visit the fascinating Kauri Museum before a walk through the majestic Waipoua forest with its magnificent kauri tree,. Take a lunch break at the beachside settlement of Opononi and visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds for a guided tour and cultural performance. Overnight: Paihia
DAY 3
Bay of Islands - Auckland
Start the day on a cruise to the iconic Hole in the Rock. Make a stop on Urupukapuka Island for a swim, stroll along the white sand beach or walk to the top of the hill for scenic views over the entire Bay of Islands. Return to Auckland through past the beaches and bays of Northland's east coast. Overnight: Auckland

DAY 4
Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua
Journey through the lush green farmlands to the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Your guide will take you on an exploration of the stalactites, stalagmites and lime columns, before descending even further underground for a cruise on the grotto river with thousands of glowworms glittering above. Your journey then continues on to the geothermal wonderland of Rotorua. Overnight: Rotorua

DAY 5
Rotorua
Visit Rotorua’s most popular geothermal parks. At Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, the amazingly colourful hot springs and moon-like landscapes are key features. At Waimangu Volcanic Valley, you’ll discover how the world began in this spectacular regenerating geothermal park. The evening highlight is an entertaining cultural performance, including traditional hangi meal and warrior canoe display.

DAY 6
Rotorua - Hobbiton - Auckland
Today's tour takes you to the popular Hobbiton Movie Set for a guided walking tour past the colourful Hobbit Holes that scatter the hillsides. Make a visit inside the charming Hobbit dwelling and capture an authentic glimpse of daily life in the Shire. Finish with a visit to the Green Dragon Inn for a beverage and a sumptuous lunch at the Party Marquee. Overnight: Auckland

Depart Auckland
Arrangements conclude today with a departure transfer to Auckland airport.
